I have officially performed twice as well as I expected with this project by making it to day 2. Give me a nice big pat on the back.
My friend Susan came into town today, so we met up for lunch and wandered around a little bit. I warned her ahead of time that I would be needing her assistance for a photo. I knew I wanted to use my 85mm for this, both because it’s a great portrait lens, and because I really haven’t given it enough time on my camera.
I was going to start this entry by saying “Today I decided to challenge myself by only taking one shot, so whatever I got was what I would go with”. The caveat being that I didn’t make that decision until after I took the shot, and was happy with it. We were actually just setting up, and I was checking the lighting when I noticed she was looking around at the buildings, and there just happened to be a light breeze moving her hair back. I grabbed the shot and ended up pleased as punch. Or pie. Perhaps a pie-punch.
I used an 85mm f1.8 prime, firing at 1/200, f4, with an iso setting of 200. It was a sunny afternoon, but we were in the shade of the downtown high rises.
I’ve noticed some issues with this template when in mobile view, particularly with menu items and title content height. If you’re running into problems with those, I apologize. I’m going to look into overriding those elements to fix the problem, and if I can’t get that sorted, may look into finding a different template. This is all still in the construction phases as we kind of build on the go.
