Shattered

Shattered

Today was a busy day. Vahida and I had a lot of errands to run, and I also wanted to get a few chores done around the apartment. Generally on Sundays we like to spend some time getting things in order for the work week, going to mosque and spending time with the parents. This week, though, we wanted to get some pictures hung up on the walls – which was a surprisingly time consuming process. We made the decision to skip mosque and spend some time adding a little colour to our home.

While we were out getting groceries, we took a drive around to see if there was anything of interest for today’s shot. Near the grocery store, we came across a very beat up looking building and the windows really grabbed my attention. I stopped the car and took a few minutes to take some shots, not sure if I would be 100% on the outcome. At this stage I had already grabbed a few other shots but still didn’t have anything really exciting. After I took a few pictures, Vahida and I reviewed them in the car and I was fairly happy with how this one turned out. This was in a small industrial area of Toronto near Leaside and I am pretty sure the building is still in business.

I used my Canon 7D Mark 1 with a Canon 24-70 F4 L lens, shooting at 1/160, F8, with an ISO setting of 100. It was an overcast day when the shot was taken.
