Droplets of Life

Droplets of Life

Day 25, the last Sunday in January. I am pretty impressed that Jamie and I have done as well as we have.

Keeping with the Sunday theme of posting an archive photo, today’s shot is one of my first macro shots that turned out. I was living up at Mount Pleasant and Eglinton at the time and recently got my poor man’s macro set up. I ventured outside to see what kind of shots I could get, quickly learning that this style is very difficult.

As luck would have it, it had rained the night before and gardens around my apartment were still wet with water droplets all over. As I was getting shots, these droplets really started to bring the shots to life. This is one of my favourite macro shots – partly because of the way it was framed and because of the main water droplet and how it is reflecting it’s surroundings.

I cannot remember my exact set up but, it was taken on my Canon 7D with extension tubes and I believe my 50mm lens. It was shot at 1/50 of a second and had an ISO of 100. It was a sunny day, but the tubes absorbed the light.

In my guilt, I have decided to post two photos today. I am backdating one of them to fill in for last Sunday’s missed post. Here it is.
