Day 34 sees us saying farewell to the parents. It was a quick trip but still great to get to see them and we had a lot of fun with them here. It was nice because we got to have some family nights, and they also got to see our place now that Vahida has had a chance to give it a little woman’s touch. Since the last time there were here, we have made a lot of little changes – the biggest of course being getting pictures on the walls.
My parents are early for everything. No matter what the task is, they always plan to be where they need to be very early. Tonight is a perfect example. They had to catch the train for 10pm, but wanted to be down there and waiting for it at 8:30. The nice part about where we live is that we are within walking distance to the subway and can get to Union Station in 20 minutes. We had some time to have a nice dinner at home, play some Catan and then pack them up and head down to the station – giving them enough time to sit around and wait.
Anyone who knows my family, especially my dad (though mom is just as bad), knows that every event calls for a picture. With all of us at the station giving our farewells, I took out the phone to snap off a little shot of them and their daughter-in-law. They took it a step further and showed her a little love.
Until the summer when we meet them again, we are wishing them well and safe travels.
I used my Samsung Note 4. It was 100% auto, but Lightroom tells me it was at 1/10, F2.2, with an ISO setting of 400. Today was a sunny day, but this was taken at night and inside a train station.
