Day 37 and we are at Niagara Falls! Vahida’s birthday was last week, but unfortunately we were not able to celebrate that weekend because my parents were going to be in town. When we’ve had to postpone our birthday celebrations in the past, we started something that we call a “birthdate”. A full day that we can spend with each other celebrating. Our plan is to have Vahida’s birthdate tomorrow, but we wanted to start the celebrations off today.
After my meetings this morning, the snow started to pick up a lot at Horseshoe Valley. By the time we were ready to leave, it was a full out blizzard and visibility was about 100 feet. We had to take it extremely slow and I was pretty nervous, seeing as I decided to not put on my winter tires this year. Luckily, once we got on the 400 the snow started to clear and before we knew it, it was a bright and sunny day. We made decent time getting to Niagara Falls and got checked in before we got out for a walk down to the falls. The sun was starting to set and I was able to grab a few shots when the light was just getting into that sweet spot.
I used my Canon 7D Mark 1 with a Sigma 10-20 wide angle lens at 10mm, shooting at 1/125, F7.1, with an ISO setting of 100. It was a nice sunny day and just around sunset when the shot was taken.
