Today’s weather forecast said that it would be the coldest day of the year so far. Because of this, Vahida and I decided to take some measures to be indoors tonight and not be doing anything silly in the cold. I like to blame it all on Vahida and say that she just isn’t built for this kind of cold – so let’s do that.
Being a holiday tomorrow, we got out to do some grocery shopping to get us through the day. While we were out, I messaged Mr. Weir and asked him for some recommendations on board games that could be played with 2 players. As we look for activities that we can do as a couple (and without TV), we have gotten into playing Cribbage, and very recently, The Big Bang Theory Clue with the 2 player rule modification. I think for the both of us, our favourite game is Settlers of Catan, but that requires 3 people at least. One of the recommendations Jamie gave us was for a game called Carcassonne, which is based on a French city whose name I have no idea how to pronounce. I make my French heritage proud on a daily basis. While we were out, we detoured to a board game/chess store called Strategy Games and picked it up. It is an interesting game because placing tiles and men is all there is to it while trying to score points. We are still very new at it and are figuring out the rights and wrongs, but I think it is going to be a great game to have in our stock – especially for 2 players.
I used my Samsung Note 4. It was 100% auto, but Lightroom tells me it was at 1/25, F2.2, with an ISO setting of 200. Today was a sunny day, but this was taken at night and indoors. We used a lamp that Vahida held up above the game board to bring more light into the shot.
