It was a bright and sunny day today, so Vahida and I decided that we needed to get out for a drive and pretty much just go somewhere. We ended up heading west to Mississauga, and then north on Mississauga Road into the country. It was a pretty scenic drive and there was a number of shots that I thought about getting, but instead decided to enjoy being out and sight see without the goal of a photo. As the day was coming to an end though, we ended up in Mississauga again and I had the thought that better planning would have led to a nice sunset shot if we had stayed a little more north because of all the fields and farmland. Hindsight is 20/20 they say though right, but at least now I have an idea in mind for another day.
We decided that since we were out, we should go and have a nice little dinner. As we were deciding on where to go, we started to notice some planes take off in our line of vision and realized we were near the airport. I remembered a while ago seeing people parked by the fence watching the planes take off and land and I decided that we should do just that. Once again, luck was on our side because the road we were on ended just up ahead into an area where there were a bunch of cars parked watching the planes. We pulled over and I got out to grab a few quick shots. It is pretty interesting to watch the airport at work, because the time between take offs is not that long. We were there for about 10 minutes and in that time-frame I was able to grab shots of 5 different planes.
I used my Canon 7D Mark 1 with a Canon EF 24-70mm F4 L lens at 70mm, shooting at 1/800, F7.1, with an ISO setting of 400. It was a sunny day when the shot was taken and it was just before sunset.
