Today’s shot is another one from Vahida and I’s honeymoon in Istanbul. While we were there, we went into an area know as the Basilica Cistern which use to be used to supply the city with water. It is amazing to be down there and see what it was like. If I remember the story right, they use to have water flow through an aqueduct into the cistern where it would be stored for use. This entire thing is underground and while it isn’t all still accessible, there is a pretty big area that you can walk around in. They have made it a little bit of a tourist attraction with the standard raised walkways and little signs all over telling you some of the history. It was a great escape from the rainy day.
This photo was taken on my Canon 7D Mark 1 with a 50mm lens, shooting at 1/20 of a second at F 1.8 with an ISO setting of 400. It was underground and hella dark.
