Positively Proper

Positively Proper

Today was dentist day, and it was my first time going to one in an embarrassing 3-4 years. I blame this on the insane prices that Toronto dentists charge and my laziness to go to the one in Burlington that I went to when I lived there. Vahida, however, like a good girl, is a dentist regular. So when her next appointment was coming close, I asked her to check the prices out and thought “Hey, I really need to get back to this dentist thing”. Now, I am sure some of you are thinking “Chuck, you work at a decent company, they have benefits for this” and you would be completely right, which the exception that they also kind of don’t. The way it works is that we are given a sum of what they call Flex Credits and from there we buy the benefits we want at a completely over-inflated rate thanks to the fact that it is through Manulife. When it came to picking my benefits, I noticed that the cost of dental coverage was really high – $500 a year – and I started to do some digging in and some math. I found out that they only cover one cleaning a year (although Vahida is able to get two so I question this one) and they only cover basic dental work – which means just cleanings. Digging into dental costs, I found out that even at 2 cleanings, the cost is not $500 and decided that I would opt out of dental coverage and instead just pay to get my teeth cleaned. That lead me to the 4 years of not going since I am just horrendously cheap.

Anyways, enough of my work benefits rant and back to this picture – which clearly has nothing to do with dental coverage.

Vahida and I got to the building and since the dental office is on the second floor, we decided to take the stairs. This is where I saw this sign. Now all in all, this is a pretty normal sign, but I found it hilariously proper and I had to get it for it to be today’s shot.

I used my Samsung Note 4. It was 100% auto, but Lightroom tells me it was at 1/25, F2.2, with an ISO setting of 160.
