Today was a beautiful day, and I spent almost all of it either driving or in meetings. On my way home from my last meeting, the sun was still shining bright, but I forgot my camera. Once I was home I got really lazy and didn’t leave again. Since I did a little shoe polishing last night, I thought I would do a little shot of my shoes.
When I took this shot, I was trying to give the illusion that the shoes are standing up against the wall, but it looks more like they are pushed up against it. The kitchen table looks too much like a floor. I used my flash, shooting from the top down, to light the shoes with a piece of card stock paper on either side to illuminate the sides.
I used my Canon 7D Mark 1 with a Canon 24-70 F4 L lens at 24mm, shooting at 1/160, F6.3, with an ISO setting of 100. I think it was a sunny day, but this was taken at night and was a studio style shot where I used my flash.
