Last night was shoe shine night. Now I know that sounds like I have an overly exciting life because I have planned days to shine my shoes, but to set the record straight – I don’t – but damn I wish I did. With spring seemingly on its way, and signs that the salt will be clearing from the roads, I did a little cleaning of Vahida’s boats and my black dress shoes. At lunch today, while I was on a conference call, I was also looking at the sun rays shining in through the patio window. I decided to see what these shoes looked like in the sunlight to get a sense of if I did a good shine job or not. I then thought “Hey, I should take a picture of these.” and so I did.
I have to credit this shot to Vahida though, because she has been saying, since this project started, that I should get a shot of my shoes. Her idea was to go more macro with it, which I still plan on doing in the future. Either way though, her suggestion is what lead me to take this picture.
I used my Canon 7D Mark 1 with a Canon 24-70 F4 L lens at 70mm, shooting at 1/250, F4, with an ISO setting of 400. It was a nice sunny day when this shot was taken, and the sunlight was blazing in through the windows.
