Chuck and I went to an Orchid show last weekend, and while I was excited with the amount of shots I got (Nice backlog for days I can’t think of anything), I realized it would be a while before I could post any of them (So many to sort through to decide on keepers).
I’ve finally finished going through them all though, and picked about 12 or so that I really dug. Here is the first one, which I will call “White orchid”. Because it’s white, it’s an orchid, and I couldn’t find out much more about it.
Orchids are a crazy and near terrifying plant when it comes to their diversity. There are so many different kinds out there, it’s quite difficult to keep track. It was incredible how many radically different looking orchids were at this show, yet they’re all considered to fall under the same umbrella. A very fascinating plant. I ended up buying one for Lauren, and it will be interesting to see how long our joint efforts can keep it alive. I know it’s only to be watered once a week, so that’s a Friday evening adventure. Also it should be in indirect sunlight. So far so good.
I got this shot with me 90mm macro lens, shooting at 1/250 and f10 with an ISO of 100. I had a flash with a MagBounce in me left hand.
