A fly on a wall

Just a fly on the wall, listenin’ and pukin’

When it comes to reactionary photography, I seem to be a glutton for punishment. Hand shooting/dropping water? Tracking and capturing birds in flight? Nah, that’s all too straightforward. Why do that, when I can tear my hair out trying to get a photo of a fly? It’s not like they’re at all jumpy or fidgety creatures.

I really need to put together a rig for my flash so I’m not holding it in one hand and my camera in the other. The addition of stability and reduction of wrist pain will probably make it worth it.

I took this with my 90mm macro lens, shooting at 1/250 and f16 with an ISO of 100. I was holding a flash above the lens with a Magbounce modifier attached to diffuse the light.
