After work today, Vahida and I made plans to go to Sunnybrook for a walk. It is one of my favourite parks in Toronto and I have always had some decent bird luck there. We took a walk around and not long after we got there, a hawk flew overhead. Unlike Jamie, they are still massively teasing me.
We continued to stroll around and came across some blossoming trees. We walked around them a bit grabbing some shots and then I noticed that the trees were moving a lot. I decided to pause for a bit and see what was going on. As I stood there, birds started to jump around in the trees and pop their heads out. There were a number of different ones, most were all the same, but then this little guy jumped onto a branch. I didn’t have much time before he flew away again and the first shot I got did not turn out at all. I waited for a little while longer and got a second chance. It flew into a little bit of sunlight and I noticed just how pretty it was. I loved how the yellow popped in contrast to the white of the trees and the green background. I do wish I was able to get a little closer for some more detail, but that is what next time is for.
The internet tells me that this is a Magnolia Warbler and I hope I see them a lot more often.
This was taken with my Canon 7D with a Sigma 80-400mm lens at 400mm, 1/400 of a second, F5.6, and an ISO of 320. Today turned out to be a pretty beautiful day.
