Today after work, I took a trip to the park to get some bird and/or wildlife shots. Upon getting there, my hopes were high. It was a beautiful day out, the sun was shining and I was in the area I have always had success. But something was different about today – there were no birds there.
Getting out of the car I walked around the area a bit and sure enough I could hear bird activity all around me, but no matter how I try, I couldn’t spot anything. I finally located a few and realized that they are all hanging out in the tree tops and out of range for a picture. This got me discouraged, but I continued to search in hopes that I would get lucky. My hopes skyrocketed when I heard what sounded like a blue jay near me. I carefully searched and scanned the area and finally located her…sitting high in the shade of a tree. Alas, today was not a bird day for me.
At the grocery store though were these completely natural looking flowers and even though they are very much modified to be these colours, the combination does pop rather nicely.
I took this with my Samsung Note 4 shooting at 1/30 of a second, ISO 40, and F2.2. Today was a beautiful day.
