European Starling

European Starling

Today was work busy. Tomorrow is our annual conference and tonight was  a mix and mingle with teammates and also the vendors who will be at our event. This did not really leave me time to grab a shot, but luckily yesterday I got one of this cool looking bird. This is a European Starling and from what I have found online, is a gorgeous bird and one that I need to photograph again. It is an interesting bird because it eats by stabbing its beak into the dirty, I assume for insects. It is also interesting because of its colours. I picked this shot because it shows them off a little better, and in it you can see the purples, greens, browns and blacks. Some of the shots online are pretty incredible of this bird and have inspired me to hunt more of them down.

I took this with my Canon 7D with the Sigma 80-400mm lens shooting at 1/320 of a second, F8 adn ISO 640. Today was a strange day filled with sunshine, rain and tornado warnings – because that makes sense.

Here is one more with him eye ballin me.
