The Ebony Jewelwing

The Ebony Jewelwing

Hey, here is another day late one. Today I am going to post 2 to get caught up, but here is yesterday’s that was taken yesterday, but I ran out of time and was not able to post it before going to mosque. Ramadan is winding down, and things get a little busy with it during the end, so please bare with me until next week when I plan to get back onto a regular schedule.

Jamie is all about the bugs as of late, so I decided that I would toss one in here as well to make a little bit of a theme. Birds? Pffftttt, to pretty. This is some sort of bug that likes the water and has some interesting wings, with a somewhat pretty bright green body. When it is landed, it looks like it has 2 wings, but when it flies, they open up to be 4. This is a shot that shows the layers. It looks kind of like a dragon fly.

I took this with my Canon 7D and Sigma 80-400 shooting at 1/250 of a second, F8 and ISO 800. I don’t have a macro lens, and I went out with my big zoom not looking for bugs. You can tell this is not as sharp as it could have been with a better setup, but I still like it.
