We made it! Today we finally made it to Nova Scotia and boy, does it feel good to be here. The road trip is far from over, but it is nice to get to a point like this. During the trip, our plans changed a little and instead of going straight to Halifax, we decided to stay at a cute little inn outside of the cities called Oceanstone Inn. We found out that Peggy’s Cove, which is where that awesome light house is, gets a little nutty after 10am, and with my dislike of crowds, this stop over will allow us to get to the cove before the rush (it is 6 minutes away).
Now I have to say a few things around the drive through Nova Scotia:
- It is beyond beautiful – I really wasn’t prepared for how pretty this part of the drive would be. There is such a contrast between some rolling hills and flat lands, but everything is green and lush. Once you get close to the coast, it becomes a whole new world.
- The people are friendly – I did expect this, but it is nice no matter what. Toronto, everyone there, should come here and take some notes on how to be a better human being.
- The ocean – I love water. Everything about water makes me happy, and when we got here and looked out across the ocean, it was just beautiful.
The first part of today’s journey was to Lunenburg, which from what I can gather is a primarily tourist town on the coast. It has a pretty rich fishing and boating history, but above everything else, it is one of the most beautiful places I have been to in my life. I cannot recommend it enough.
Needless to say, I am in love with this province and am in the works of trying to convince Vahida to move here.
Canon 7D, 1/100 of a second, F16, ISO 200. Today started off cloudy, but cleared and become really beautiful.
