I never thought I would be in a position where I’m yearning for my tethering cable, but tonight has changed the situation. I’m sure it’s in this house somewhere, but it is most definitely not in any of the places I looked. It would have been super handy, as I could have had my tablet connected to the camera, and then position myself, position the lighting, and check the focus all in one convenient position.
Since that wasn’t the case, I instead did a lot of testing, ballparking, manual focusing, and timed shutter… ing. I didn’t end up managing to get the rim light I was after, but hey, good enough for today.
For those confused folks that had healthy upbringings, this is my costume for Agent 47 from the Hitman franchise.
I took this with my 24-70mm lens, shooting at 1/60 and f10, with an ISO of 100. I had a sofbox right above me pointing down, and then two on each side slightly behind me. I was trying to get as much out of them as I could without lighting up the wall behind me, and should really get some sort black cloth or paper to hang on my back wall so this kind of thing isn’t an issue in the office.
