This weekend Vahida and I decided to take on a new hobby of making some wooden candle holders. I will not lie, we saw this type of thing at a store and we loved them a lot but they were a little expensive. Since we had some wood at home, we thought we would attempt to make one. The idea was to make a box, but have something carved into the panel. For this one, we went with Allah on one side, and as showing in the picture, Muhammad on the other.
We had a few learnings on this one, which is good for the next one we make. The biggest for me was to hold off on sanding until everything is together. It would both save time, and make things line up a lot better. We had a lot of fun making this though, and I think Vahida enjoyed her entrance into some wood making projects. To finish this off after it was glued and sanded was a little paint job.
Canon 7D, 25 seconds, F18 and ISO 100. Today was really nice out at plus 11. Jacket or sweater and great for a walk.
