Remembrance Day is an important day I think for mostly everyone around the world today. I am one of those people who isn’t into the whole war thing and believe in the concept of peace. I also am a realist and know that this isn’t how everyone thinks and as history shows, there has been – and still is – a lot of evil in the world. I also have a lot of admiration for those who choose to go out to defend us and our great country. Brave men and women have laid down their lives to give me the privilege to live free.
To all those who have fought and are fighting the evils of our world, I thank you. Today we took some time to remember those who were lost and keep their memory in our hearts.
This is a shot of some of the war items I happen to have. The binoculars were my Great Grandpa Charles the I. I don’t know the full history of them, but I know they were his in the war and that makes them part of my history. The lighter is a replica of one that was used in the war by many soldiers. Although it is a replica, the story about it is not always pretty since the flash of the lighter often gave away their position and lead to their demise.
Canon 7D, 1/100 of a second, F9 and ISO 100. Today was a beautiful day.
